About Golden Ground  Community
Bangin' kick drums, roaring basslines and a lot of clickety-clack. Thats the sound of Golden Ground. The man behind this project is Georg "Gogi" Lankes from Passau (Germany). Downright challenged by Music Instructor's "Hymn", he began producing his own tunes in 1995. After quite a long incubation time, Golden Ground started putting out his music on the internet (Download.com Music - Electonica Top 15/ MySpace.com/ HumbleVoice.com - Featured Artist/ Free "Wack Wabbit" EP @ Eigentum ist Diebstahl Records). Besides producing his bangin' tunes, he also rocks the floor as DJ Freakmund Zoid around the town of Passau from time to time.

Golden Ground finally starts blogging!

9/29/2008 at 10:28 PM

Yeah, time for a new category: Golden Ground's blog. So, what to write? ... I started a new song today. It's called "Bramfield" and it was originally inspired by a post by Jewbear in the HV-community chat. He wrote that he was taken to a rave and injured his ankle in the process. I was stunned ba the fact that raves still existed. And it kind of reminded me of old times. Rave was the first kind of Techno in my life. Scooter, Dune, Marusha, Westbam... man, those were the days! And it made me wonder if I could create such a song, a real rave song. So I jammed a little and I actually found a really nice groove and some very cool syths and decided to go with it. The basic loop is done and now all I have to do is to make it into a song... if everything goes as planned, the tune will be online by next week.

Hey, thanks for the welcome. So far I've been very impressed with this place and it's low-key, melodrama-free atmosphere. I write on another site but I'm seriously thinking about moving all my stuff here. This is the first site I've seen that has it all without drowning in the otherwise ever-present teen melodrama that seems to saturate the internet. In other words, this site is more my speed.

I like the tunes and I'm looking to get into composing some of my own but am a complete newbie. I'm pretty much discovering the arts at a late stage in life but have found them immensely fulfilling. What program do you use to compose? Also, is there a program that you know of for composing orchestral pieces? Thanks for the welcome.
