1st part of a trilogy concerned with the fascinating bengal poet rabindranath tagore.
The premiere of this soundsculpture-lecture took place on january 18th in the hall
of villa wesendonck which is regarded as the heart of Museum Rietberg in Zurich.
The bansoori is generally known as the flute lord krishna plays to enchant the cowgirls,
it is considered as the solo-instrument par excellence - here it is multiplied manifold
thus creating a huge space of sound in which the actress marlise fischer is imbedding
the poetry, diary and letter passages and even a novel by the variegate bengal author.
You listen to a studio production of this lecture - it may give an idea of the complexity
of sound, coming from various rooms of the villa wesendonck build in the 19th century
and nowadays hosting the precious collection of indian and south-asian sacral art.
